I never liked New Years. And I like resolutions even less. So when an Oscraps designer, Sue Cummings, mentioned a “Word of the Year” article, my interest was piqued. The premise is that resolutions don’t work because they are rooted in Do, not in Be.
On the Christine Kane Blog, she describes a Word of the Year Approach where you focus on one specific word that will guide you through the year, and hopefully improving your outlook on life.
As of right now, I have my “word” narrowed down to three possibilities: Joy, Kindness, and Gratitude. I hope that by the end of today, I’ll be able to choose which one should be my focus of this new year.
For more on this, you can read Live Creative and check out the Word of the Year Discovery Tool. I would love to hear what words you choose and how you think it will change your perspective on life in 2011.
